On April 14, 2025, the European Commission adopted the draft amendment to the POPs regulations issued on December 4, 2023, which aims to revise the restriction requirements for perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS). On April 2, 2025, the EU published Regulation (EU) 2025/660 in its Official Gazette, amending the provisions on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in clay targets in Annex XVII of REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006), adding Item 50a to restrict the use of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in clay targets for shooting. This provision will take effect on the 20th day after the publication in the EU Official Gazette and will be officially implemented on April 22, 2026.
